Diagonale ’17 Festival of Austrian Film
At the 20th Diagonale, the Festival of Austrian Film we celebrated the Austrian premiere of our film at the KIZ RoyalKino. This screening was sold out, as was the second one shortly afterwards in the UCI Annenhof.
For us it was extremely exciting, because we could not possibly guess how the highly critical Austrian audience would react to our film. In Berlin people had been enthusiastic; would it be the same here?
The Q&A after the premiere lasted at least half an hour which was a very good sign; another was the fantastic reaction. It was clear the Austrian audience had also liked Adrian Goiginger’s debut film.
When we received 2 awards at the final event it was an incredibly happy moment.
BEST ACTRESS for Verena Altenberger and
BEST PRODUCTION DESIGN for Veronika Merlin
The crowning achievement came at the end with the Audience Award for the most popular film at the Diagonale. This was the award we were most proud of, because it is the audience we make films for.
Film release in Austria to start in September 2017
